Black list Peta

Come precisato nell’articolo sul Cruelty-free, dall’11 marzo 2013, è entrato in vigore in UE il divieto ASSOLUTO dei test su animali (la cosiddetta sperimentazione preventiva, da effettuarsi prima di immettere in commercio un prodotto) degli ingredienti utilizzati per i prodotti cosmetici.

Nel mondo esistono, purtroppo, però Aziende che continuano a testare su animali sostanze utilizzate in ambito cosmetico (il divieto infatti vige in UE e non al di fuori di essa).
La sensibilità in materia è però forte e ho ritenuto fosse il caso di segnalarvi la lista delle Aziende (Multinazionali ovviamente) che testano.

Già che ci siamo vi riporto una recente sentenza della Corte di Giustizia Europea (settembre 2016) sul divieto di utilizzo di cosmetici testati su animali (fonte eu news) che dà l’idea di come i tempi stiano cambiando:

“È vietata l’introduzione sul mercato europeo di prodotti cosmetici testati sugli animali, anche se i test sono stati effettuati in Paesi terzi”.
A stabilirlo è una sentenza della Corte di giustizia dell’Unione europea, che di fatto esclude totalmente la vendita all’interno dell’Ue di prodotti i cui ingredienti sono stati oggetto di sperimentazioni animali, anche in Paesi in cui queste siano richieste per conformarsi alle normative di sicurezza locali.
Secondo la Corte “il diritto dell’Unione non opera alcuna distinzione in base al luogo in cui è stata effettuata la sperimentazione animale” perché “se fosse possibile eluderei divieti previsti dal diritto dell’Unione effettuando le sperimentazioni animali in Paesi terzi” ne risulterebbe “notevolmente compromessa” la realizzazione dell’obiettivo del regolamento Ue sui prodotti cosmetici che mira invece ad “assicurare un livello elevato di protezione della salute umana, vegliando al contempo sul benessere degli animali”.
A portare il caso davanti alla Corte è stata un’associazione di categoria, la “European Federation for Cosmetic Ingredients” (EffCI), che rappresenta i fabbricanti di ingredienti impiegati nei prodotti cosmetici all’interno dell’Unione europea. Tre membri dell’associazione avevano effettuato test su animali fuori dall’Ue perché determinati prodotti potessero essere venduti in Cina o Giappone. Secondo l’associazione, la vendita nel Regno Unito di tali prodotti non avrebbe violato il regolamento Ue sui prodotti cosmetici perché le sperimentazioni erano state effettuate per conformarsi alle normative di Paesi terzi. Investita della controversia, l’Alta corte di giustizia di Inghilterra e Galles ha deciso di portare la questione davanti alla Corte di Lussemburgo che oggi ha dato parere negativo alla vendita dei prodotti in Europa.
“L’accesso al mercato dell’Unione – ricorda la Corte – è subordinato all’osservanza del divieto di ricorre alla sperimentazione animale”. Ed è “irrilevante la circostanza che le sperimentazioni animali siano state richieste al fine di permettere la commercializzazione del prodotto in Paesi terzi”. Per questo è possibile vietare la vendita nell’Ue di prodotti i cui ingredienti siano stati testati su animali fuori dall’Unione “se i dati risultanti da tali sperimentazioni sono utilizzati per dimostrare la sicurezza dei suddetti prodotti ai fini della loro immissione sul mercato dell’Unione”.

Il dado come si suol dire è tratto, ora tocca a noi diventare consumatori consapevoli.
